JRCC Day of Giving Raises over $2.1M!
The annual JRCC Day of Giving raised over $2.1 Million to support for the initiatives of the JRCC and its branches. The funds raised will help the JRCC and its branches expand their reach and enhancing their programs. The theme of this year’s Day of Giving was “Be the Magic,” emphasizing the idea of how a community is something magical, much more than the some of its parts – something magical. We can achieve so much, see wonders and accomplish miracles when we are united. More than 1,100 individuals gave generously to this special campaign to support the efforts of the JRCC and its branches to bring more light, more together and more joy to the community. Thank you to all those who supported this campaign and shared it with their friends, and shared their words of encouragement. It’s not too late to join. Visit charidy.com/jrcc.
A Birthday Farbrengen
Rabbi Yoseph Y. Zaltzman, senior rabbi and founder of the JRCC, celebrated his birthday with a special farbrengen gathering at the JRCC East Thornhill. Congratulations to Rabbi Zaltzman, who, together with his wife Chiena, has dedicated his life to our community, on all the amazing work done over the last forty years, and wishing you much continued success. A birthday is not just a day to celebrate. It is a day to reflect and make positive resolutions, and encourage ones’ friends and family to do the same. It’s like a personal Rosh Hashana. In addition to the words of inspiration, song, refreshments and l’chaims, participants also offered a special gift: A positive resolution connected to Jewish life. Dozens of people obliged the rabbi by committing themselves to various acts of goodness, including to light Shabbat candles, done tefillin, observe Shabbat, and speaking more thoughtfully. An Evening of Celebration: Honoring the Rebbe’s Leadership
The JRCC hosted a memorable evening in honor of Yud Shevat, marking the anniversary of the Rebbe’s leadership, at the Leah Posluns Theatre. Titled “This World is a Garden,” the event featured a powerful video presentation and a stunning string quartet performance, both inspired by the Rebbe’s iconic inaugural address of 1951. Known as Basi LeGani (“I have come into my garden”), this discourse reveals the world as a Divine garden that we are entrusted to nurture, bringing G‑d immense joy. The evening’s atmosphere, along with the unique blend of multimedia and music, served as a fitting tribute to both the Rebbe and the profound teachings conveyed in this powerful address.
JRCC Rebbetzins Attend Annual Gathering in NY
A group of Rebbetzins from the JRCC recently attended the
Annual Kinus HaShluchos in Brooklyn, New York, established in honor of Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka, the wife of the Rebbe. The Kinus, a gathering of female Shluchos from around the world, strengthens their leadership and empowers them through inspiration and shared experiences. For the JRCC Rebbetzins, this event enhances their connections with the global Chabad network and provides new tools to enhance their work in serving their communities.
