PRE-PURIM EVENTS
In the week leading up to Purim, dozens of events for
children, teens, and adults took place. From Hamentash Bake-Offs to festive Purim parties, each event was tailored to engage specific neighborhoods and age groups, spreading the joyous Purim spirit throughout the community.
COMMUNITY PURIM PARTIES
On Thursday, March 13, the eve of Purim, over 1,500 people gathered for festive Purim celebrations across 8 JRCC branches and other locations in the GTA. Each event featured a Megillah reading, music, refreshments, and a door prize for every child in costume. The lively gatherings centered around the children, with some including special entertainment.
PURIM BANQUETS AT ALL BRANCHES
This year, the JRCC hosted Purim banquets at its multiple branches
instead of one centralized event, as Purim fell on Friday. The celebrations were extra special and festive, offering a unique experience that combined the joy of Purim with the spirit of Shabbat. Attendees enjoyed a full festive meal, live entertainment, and a Megillah reading, making for a memorable celebration.
CONCERT FOR WOMEN & GIRLS
The JRCC hosted a memorable evening to celebrate Adar, the month of joy, with a special music event for women and girls. The talented Tehila Erlich performed live at the Leah Posluns Theatre, creating an unforgettable night of uplifting music. The community came together to embrace the joyous spirit of Adar in a truly special way.
MODEL MATZAH BAKERY
The JRCC hosted a fun and educational Model Matzah Bakery event at
770 Chabad Gate, where families and children had the opportunity to learn about the traditional process of making matzah. Participants enjoyed hands-on activities, from kneading dough to baking, while gaining a deeper appreciation for this important Passover tradition.
