Rising Together: Pre-Rosh Hashana Mega Challah Bake

Over 500 women came together at the Kehillah Centre for a grand Pre-Rosh Hashanah Mega Challah Bake, themed “Rising Together.” The evening featured special guest entertainer Devorah Schwartz, uplifting music, and the timeless mitzvah of challah. Participants joined in song, prayer, and unity, celebrating tradition and standing in solidarity with Israel as they prepared for the New Year.

Rosh Chodesh Elul at JRCC

Community members gathered across JRCC branches to welcome the new month of Elul with heartfelt morning prayers, followed by a festive breakfast. The breakfast, sponsored by JRCC of Ontario, was a celebration of our amazing and growing community. Marking the beginning of a month of reflection and preparation for the High Holidays, the event highlighted the warmth, unity, and spirit that continue to strengthen our community.

Employment & Career Development at JRCC

JRCC launched its Employment and Career Development Program with two inspiring lectures. Dr. Marat Ressin spoke on employment and entrepreneurship, while Edward Kholodenko shared insights on wealth and purpose. Each session concluded with a lively Q&A, giving participants practical guidance for their professional journeys. Pre-Rosh Hashanah for Children

JRCC hosted joyful Pre-Rosh Hashanah programs for children in East Thornhill and S. Richmond Hill & Maple. Families gathered for crafts, songs, and holiday activities, creating excitement and connection to Jewish tradition. The programs gave children a hands-on way to experience the meaning of Rosh Hashanah while enjoying time with friends and community. These celebrations prepared children and youth and the whole family for a sweet and meaningful New Year.

Torah Dedication in Memory of Shay Gavrielov

The community united for a moving Torah dedication ceremony in memory of Shay Gavrielov of blessed memory. The Gavrielov family invited friends and community members to celebrate this sacred milestone with music, dancing, and heartfelt words. The ceremonies began with the completion of the Torah scroll at the Gavrielov home, followed by a lively procession to the Torah’s new home at the JRCC S Richmond Hill & Maple, where celebrations continued with hakafot dancing and a festive meal. The dedication of a new Torah scroll honors Shay’s memory with a lasting legacy of light and Torah learning, strengthening the bond of faith and unity across our growing community.
