20 Av Farbrengen


On Thursday, August 14, the JRCC West Thornhill hosted a special farbrengen gathering in honor of the 20th of Av, the yahrzeit of the Rebbe’s father, Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Schneerson. The Rebbe’s father fought and suffered for his uncompromising and fearless activism to help keep Judaism alive in the former Soviet Union. It was fitting time to honor his legacy and its place in our lives, and also to celebrate the birthday of Rabbi Levi Jacobson, Director of JRCC West Thornhill, who inherited the name of the Rebbe’s father.
White Party At Rockford Marks Tu B'Av

In celebration of Tu B’Av, the “Jewish festival of love,” JRCC Rockford’s Chabad Young Professionals hosted a White Party for singles. Guests came dressed in elegant white for an open-air evening of music, great food, and joyful connection. As one of the happiest days on the Jewish calendar, Tu B’Av offered a meaningful and festive setting for young Jewish adults seeking friendship – and perhaps their soulmate.
JRCC Staff Appreciation Evening


Over seventy staff members and their spouses gathered at the Kholodenko residence for a special evening of appreciation and connection. The event recognized the dedication of JRCC’s staff across all branches, from education and programming to administration and outreach. “Our staff are the heart of everything we do,” said JRCC CEO Rabbi Mendel Zaltzman. “This evening was our way of saying thank you.” Attendees enjoyed a relaxed and elegant atmosphere, delicious food, and heartfelt words of gratitude for their vital role in strengthening Jewish life across the community.
Daycare Summer Trip to the Farm


Summer means adventure! As part of the daycare’s summer program, the children enjoyed an exciting and educational outing to a local farm. They got up close with animals, explored the outdoors, and experienced the wonders of nature firsthand. The trip was filled with laughter, learning, and sunshine—creating memories that will last long after the summer ends.
The Temple In Jerusalem - An Animated Journey

Thirty participants gathered at JRCC East Thornhill for The Temple in Jerusalem – An Animated Journey. Through a vivid and engaging film presentation, the Holy Temple came to life on screen – its structure, service, and spiritual significance. The event offered a powerful way to connect with our past and inspire hope for the future, when the Third Temple will be rebuilt with the coming of Moshiach.
A Historic Torah Dedication Celebration


JRCC Rockford community celebrated the dedication of the Yitzchak and Miriam Hadida Torah scroll, donated by their son, Mr. Alan Hadida and his siblings. The event was highlighted with a joyous procession, spirited Hakafot dancing, and a festive meal.
