Membership Drive

The JRCC and all its branches prescribe to a policy of welcoming and accepting every person who comes through our doors. At the same time, there is considerable expense involved in running the day-to-day operations of the various programs and services we offer. Please consider a JRCC Membership to help offset the costs of your local branch. Your Membership is fully tax-deductible, and includes High Holiday tickets. Please call the office at 416.222.7105 or visit www.jrcc.org/membership.

Preschool & Daycare Summer Program

The JRCC Preschool and Daycare ran a successful summer day camp program, with an emphasis on enjoying the great outdoors during the warm summer months. The program also featured special outings, including trips to various educational and entertaining attractions throughout the GTA. The Preschool and Daycare resumes its regular schedule in September. For more information contact Anya Kupinsky at 416-736-0781.

Hebrew School Registration

Give your child the gift of Jewish education, and to give yourself the gift of Jewish naches. The opportunity to learn what it means to be Jewish through engaging in Jewish history, Hebrew language, and becoming familiar with Jewish holidays and other observances, solidifies the Jewish identity in the child’s mind. The acclaimed Aleph Champ program creates an individualized program of study that enables each student to progress in his/her Hebrew Reading skills by graduating to different levels using various colored “belt” levels like in Karate. The program is focused on education through hands-on experience and fun, where Judaism comes to life with a variety of creative art projects, educational games and interactive seminars. The children become a conduit of Jewish information for their families, and a source of Jewish pride for their parents and grandparents. Registration is still open for September 2010, and a limited number of scholarships are available. Contact the JRCC Hebrew School at 416.222.7105 x224 or visit www.jrcc.org/hebrewschool

Summer Camp

The JRCC’s Summer Adventure Camp program took over 30 boys and girls ages 9 to 14 on a one-week adventure to the Laurentian Mountains near Montreal. Joining another 20 campers from Montreral, the fifty participants made fast friends and experienced a week packed with excitement – from challenging outdoor activities like white water rafting and intensive hiking, to skill building activities like tree-tope roping and boating. All of this took place in a beautiful, expansive, natural lakefront setting, and included a wide variety of recreational activities and amusement trips throughout the week, including Six Flags Laronde and a trampoline gym.
How did the campers enjoy the experience? Here’s what they had to say:
“I really enjoyed camp, hope to be back.”; “Can you make the camp longer?”;
“This camp really opened my eyes… through very fun and interactive activities”;
“It was my first sleepover camp and I enjoyed it a lot.”
