Summer Camp in Session
As this issue goes to print, the JRCC’s Summer Adventure Camp program is underway, with dozens of boys and girls ages 10 to 15 joining two separate one-week camp adventures based in Burks Falls, Ontario. Participants make fast friends and experience a week packed with excitement — from challenging outdoor activities like white water rafting and intensive hiking, to skill building activities like treetope roping and boating. All of this takes place in a beautiful, expansive, natural lakefront setting with comfortable accommodations, and includes a wide variety of recreational activities and amusement trips throughout the week.
Art & Soul Evening
The JRCC S Richmond Hill & Maple hosted an Art & Soul evening, a social fundraiser with a Jewish art exhibit and sale. Fine wine and other refreshments were served, while participants mingled and chatted as they browsed the art and spoke with the artists. This year’s event featured selected original works and high quality prints by several local artists. Proceeds from the sale of artwork benefited the JRCC S Richmond Hill & Maple and its many programs.
JRCC@Rockford Hosts Temple Course
Dozens of participants enjoyed a comprehensive and in-depth series of classes about the Temple, delivered by guest speaker Rabbi Chai Cohen at the JRCC@Rockford. In addition to giving an overview and tour of the Temple and its rituals, Rabbi Cohen discussed the Temple’s historical and spiritual significance for the Jewish people, and what the Temple means for us today. Thank you Rabbi Cohen!
