Who We Serve
JRCC of South Thornhill serves the religious and the non-observant, the affiliated and non-affiliated, young and old and all in between.
JRCC reaches out to all who are in need and assists them with their religious and emotional needs as well as serving the community at large by offering programs and classes for all ages. From toddlers to seniors, all have a place and feel welcome at JRCC. Every individual counts.
With the non-judgmental policy that is the heart and soul of the Chabad philosophy, we are dedicated to providing every Jew of Russian Speaking background, regardless of philosophy, level of commitment, or financial status, a welcoming environment for strengthening and enhancing Jewish family life and creating a personalized Jewish experience. The JRCC of South Thornhill is a place where you will find a warm and vibrant community comprised of people who share common values and the interest in a community bond
Our mission
Our mission is to achieve a greater sense of Jewish pride, joy and knowledge among the Jews from the Former Soviet Union residing in the South Thornhill area by providing educational, spiritual, religious, cultural, and community services that will bring us closer together and help to achieve a perfect world with the Redemption.
Our inspiration: THE REBBE
The mission of serving this community was handed to the JRCC by the Rebbe who taught us that, "The three loves: love of G-d, love of Torah, and love of a fellow Jew are all one." This is based upon a teaching of the Baal Shem Tov that our love and concern for our fellow Jewish brothers and sisters, even those whom we don’t know, should penetrate the very core of our being. It is the Rebbe’s teachings and his vision for Jewish unity, the oneness of Creation, and a harmonious future for all humanity, which guides and inspires us.
