Shortly after 3:00 am on January 7, 2020, Rabbi Shmuel Neft of JRCC @ Rockford received a call from the Toronto Fire Department that a fire broke out in his shul. After their investigation, it has been confirmed that the fire started in the furnace room, and that there are no suspicious motives.
Although the building structure is standing, there is extensive damage to the interior which has forced us to close the the building for repair.
"We seem like we hit a bit of a bump in the road"says Rabbi Neft, "but the road still continues and we’re going to keep on trucking,"
Prayers and classes will continue as normal in a newly set up room at our main office located at 5987 Bathurst St.
