Dear Close Friend at Jrcc South Thornhill,
We are inviting you to participate in the opportunity of sending beautiful Purim packages to your friends at our shul!
For the past five years we have been offering this purim project initiative, which provides an opportunity for members of the community to express their friendship and appreciation for one another.
This year, with the painful reality of many of us not being able to see each other in person for prayers and programs, this project is all the more so meaningful. It’s a chance to tell your friends you’re thinking of them and want to celebrate this holiday of joy together.
In addition, this year some may not be comfortable or able to leave their homes to deliver mishloach manot in person, and thus this project provides a way for you to fulfill this special mitzvah and give to your friends while staying safe. (If you won’t be delivering any other mishloach manot this purim and want this giving to count for the mitzvah according to halacha, let us know and we’ll accommodate the specifications required in halacha for it to be considered as such.)
We have compiled a limited list which includes only the very close members / consistent participants of Jrcc South Thornhill prayers & programs.
Each family or individual can select their own personal list of the people on our shul's list to whom they'd like to send Purim gift baskets. We will deliver a mishloach manot gift basket to every member on the list, together with an attached note listing the name(s) of those who sent their Purim basket.
