Gmach Meir Shlomo
the JRCC Gmach in memory of Meir Shlomo Zaltzman OB"M

As we are still mourning the tragic and extremely untimely loss of Baby Meir shlomo Zaltzman ob"m, the JRCC is proud to announce a new operation dedicated to honor his memory: Gmach Meir Shlomo.
Gmach, a Hebrew abbreviation composed of the three Hebrew letters gimmel, mem and ches, stands for gemillas chasodim which literally translates as "acts of kindness".
Gmachs have been operating in Jewish communities for centuries, and now will a part of the services JRCC will be offering his community.
The Meir Shlomo Gmach, is a free-loan fund which subscribes to both the positive Torah commandment of lending money and the Torah prohibition against charging interest on a loan. Unlike bank loans, Gemach loans are interest-free, and are often set up with easy repayment terms.
The traditional Gmach concept consists of a money-lending fund, extends loans on a short- or long-term basis for any need, including emergency loans, or expenses such as medical, Weddings, Bar Mitzvah, Business, Housing.
Everyone has the right to live with dignity. No person wants charity. They would rather receive and give back in order to feel a part of something. A Gemach is an asset and not a liability.
